Working for L.D. Russo, Inc., this shared community public water supply provides water to a multi-unit housing development, two office buildings and a Dunkin Donuts. An entire new water system with 4 new bedrock wells, underground pump station & storage tanks, and distribution system was engineered by us and permitted by MA DEP.  Because this project had a non-conventional underground concrete pump station, creative ways of preventing groundwater from impacting these facilities was engineered by us, including stone and pipe underdrains around the pump station and tanks to direct groundwater away; pouring a 4-inch thick concrete floor in the pump station to create a moat channel around the edge by the walls; and a floor drain outlet to daylight. This infrastructure was also designed to accommodate additional future commercial development, and this project has been a great success for L. D. Russo!
